Alphabeat - Boyfriend

Video 1:
Video 2:

The Danish band 4th pop single. The album has been out for awhile in Denmark but go repackaged and issued in the IK just recently. Catchy bubblegum pop. I have posted two different videos. One from 2007 and one for the re-release of the single in the UK in 2008. Both are fairly ordinary videos. Nothing spectacular. Great track

Video 1 (Old)

Video 2 (New)

Mystery Jets - Half In Love With Elizabeth

Three singles in and I haven't been disappointed yet. Great indiepop from this UK band.

The Subways - I Wont Let You Down

The new Subways single. Nurock. Crap. Damn this could be the new Nickleback. I'm not even sure why I posted this. Does anyone like this. Will be back tomorrow with the Mystery Jets. Maybe they can do better.

Glass Tiger - My Town (Toronto FC Mix)

Glass Tiger, Canadian eighties ikons, bring back their classic early nineties pop track My Town and retrofit it for Toronto Soccer team Toronto FC. Much better than the piece of trash that the Barenaked Ladies put out last year. Rumour this was done without any Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment backing. I like it!!!!.

CUT OFF YOUR HANDS - Expectations

Nice simple catchy pop track from this New Zealand band. They seem to be having fun in their video which is basically them jumping around in a bunch of yellow balloons. Off the 679 Record label.

The Shapeshifters - Chime

Bringing back the old school. This house outfit rip Orbital's chime sample for sample and put it over a housebeat and it works. Great recognition of a track which is almost 20 years old. The video is cool too with a nostalgic documentary like video that looks back at the Acid House craze from the late eighties/early nineties. Out on Defected Records now.

Red Light Company - Meccano

Oh well....Columbia blocked me from providing this video. So we get stuck with the Making the Video video. pretty catchy rock track from this glam rock outfit.

The Cure - The Perfect Boy

4th single off the Cure's 13th album to be released now on October 13th. Originally slated to be released on September 13th the release has been pushed back and a remix CDEP will be released on September 13th with remixes of the first 4 singles. This single is pretty good. Again....the video is of Bob and the crew just performing live in black and white just like the first 3 videos.

The Verve - Love Is Noise

Wow....the new single by the Verve really doesn't do much for me. I thought this single was released to support a greatest hits package but this is actually off a brand new album called Forth to be released on August 25th.

Santogold - Lights Out

Fantastic new single from Santogold taken from her self-titled release. Very cool eighties sounding pop tune. Definately a summer song.

Noah and the Whale - 5 Years Time

Catchy indie single that somehow has done very well in the UK in sales. A UK band which has been around since 2006. This is actually a reissue of the track which was originally releases in 2007. The first album is "Peaceful The World Lays Me Down"
I'm not sure but I think the female vocals are of Laura Marling who appeared on the Mystery Jets fantastic single Young Love which was reviewed awhile back. I also believe this song is in a commercial hence the sudden interest in the great track.

Late Of The Pier - Heartbeat

I love and hate this track. A fusion of eighties alternative new wave synth, seventies rock, and electro. I'm not one for alot of the seventies rock so the outro on this song doesn't do much for me. UK band who's first album comes out in September called Fantasy Black Channel. This is actually their fourth single taken from the CD and off my quick listen to the others is their best. They are signed to Parlophone Records

The King Blues - Let's Hang The Landlord

Well this band and record company won't let me embed their video into this post so you will need to click on the Youtube link above to get there. Not really sure why this is done? Anyways. Catchy punky pop track from this UK band. Taken from their forthcoming 2nd album Save The World, Get The Girl.

KASMS - Taxidermy

Punk Gothic track...fantastic....brings back the days of Catch 22, L'infidel, Pic, and other fine establishments.

Das Pop - Underground

Das Pop - Underground
Video -

Indiepop single from this Belgian group. Reminds me of Canadian band Sloan for some reason. There are Van She and Busy P noisy Justice type remixes doing the rounds also. I have to admit I am trying to like this single but it really isn't winning me over. What do you think?

Bob Sinclar ft Fireball - What I Want

Bob Sinclar ft Fireball - What I Want

Bob Sinclar offers up a summer house track. I'm a big fan of Bob Sinclar but this track isn't anything super spectacular. Probably a good sit by the water chill track rather than a club track.
