Crazy Tornado action here in Toronto. More exciting then the music releases this week. Absolutely nothing out worth commenting on except the brand new single/video from Kasabian. Second single taken from West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
Jeff mentioned this band in a tweet recently as they were opening up for Lykke Li here in Toronto. And by coincidence, this new catchy single got released this week in the UK. Melodic indie rock/pop.
Slammin club track which has probably been around for awhile but got the full release in the UK just recently. Massive beat and catchy lyrics make this the song of the summer. Rumba.
One of my favourite movies in my teen years was Some Kind Of Wonderful. Not only for the movie but for the soundtrack too. Probably the best John Hughes soundtrack ever put out. Featuring songs from Jesus and The Mary Chain, Stephen Tin Tin Duffy, The March Violets, Pete Shelly, Flesh For Lulu, and Furniture.
New Ep being issued State Side for Cocknbullkid. This is the 2nd cut off the EP Called Querelle. Curious what the first cut Kiss Kiss Kill sounds like. Released on IAMSOUND record label which is based out of the USA. Not a bad track though. EP also includes the earlier UK single I'm Not Sorry which we featured on this blog back in May.
This sounds like someone and I can't place it. Anyone want to take a stab. I want to say Suede but thats probably because the guy looks like a Bret Anderson type of character. Sorta catchy but maybe alittle whiny Britpop. I can't make up my mind.
